    I was able to successfully make a Swift Slider with a background video by self-hosing the three video file formats on my server. But I want to use a youtube video for the background video to save on bandwidth. Is this not possible? Is this supported by any of the sliders you bundle with the theme?
    Putting the youtube URL into the swift slider fields doesn’t work.

    The video I’m trying to use is this:

    Here is the link as code so your forum won’t convert it into a playback window.

    Do any of the bundled sliders support either youtube or vimeo videos? If so, which ones?
    thanks.

    The revolution slider does support youtube videos, but not as backgrounds, just as full width videos

    So it’s not possible to float a working button or HTML text on top of a youtube or vimeo video in any of the sliders?

    Unfortunately it’s not physically possible, when you use a youtube video link it pulls in the video along with the video player, so you’d never be able to use it as a background

    According to this page and live demonstration, it is possible:

    @lbdesign

    Hi, it is actually easy to do that…
    Download VLC Media Player

    Open VLC -> Media -> Open Network Stream -> Network -> Enter the youtube link

    Now open the playlist-> Right click on Video-> Information -> You will find the below part of the screen in location textbox.

    This is the direct link of the video.

    Just copy/past this URL in the MP4 url box… hope this helps ๐Ÿ˜€

    @Swiftideas
    team –please add this to the slider… hosted videos are taking a lot of resources out of the server… I know it can be hosted at amazon s3 and such… but that just involves a lot of work and it could get costly to host there… not all of us have good servers… being able to easily add a youtube hosted video will help a lot… ๐Ÿ˜€ thanks guys keep up the good work!

    Here is a sample… I think I’ve put it on the last slide: http://los-angeles-beauty-salon.humlington.com/
